Khud Race Recce

The history of the Gurkha Khud Race dates back to 1800 AD. In Hong Kong Khud Race was hill race organise by Gurkha Brigade in 1960 at Kai Kung Leng during their service, which was consider as first hill race in Hong Kong. The race was extremely popular in Hong Kong within Gurkha Brigade, wider Army units and as well as in local population. The last Khud Race was run Hong-Kong in 1996. And Gurkha Cemetery Trust (GCT) will soon organise the race in Hong Kong.

Sunday, 24 May 2020, GCT held a recce to explore the historical route of Khud Race. All the participants (pictured) got the opportunity to view the Historical Gurkha Military Cemetery near San Tin Barracks. Recce started at 10 am but before that the chairperson of GCT, Mr Khimding Ratna, gave short briefing about the Khud Race history and to take precaution during the hike as the weather was very hot.  Recce took around five and half hrs covering the distance of approximately 13 km.
